Xiaomi Plans 2027 European Launch Following SU7 Ultra Testing in Germany
Xiaomi executive Lu Weibing recently completed extensive testing of the company's SU7 Ultra electric vehicle across Germany, signaling progress toward the automaker's planned 2027 European market entry.

The two-day evaluation covered approximately 800 kilometers on routes between Berlin, Hamburg, and Frankfurt. Lu assessed both vehicle performance and Germany's charging network, which he described as well-developed. The SU7 Ultra drew interest at charging stations, with some observers recognizing the model.

Testing included Germany's unrestricted autobahn sections, where the vehicle reached 260 km/h while maintaining stable handling. Lu confirmed this marked his first experience on these high-speed roads.

Speaking at an earlier briefing in August, Lu indicated Xiaomi's automotive division expects to reach profitability by late 2026. The company has invested over 30 billion yuan (4.18 billion USD) in its vehicle program, though quarterly operating losses have narrowed to 300 million yuan (41.8 million USD).

The SU7 Ultra features a 93.7 kWh CATL Qilin II battery operating at 897 volts, providing 630 km of range under CLTC testing. Performance figures include 0-100 km/h acceleration in 1.98 seconds and a maximum speed of 350 km/h.

Xiaomi began European road validation in July 2025 after the SU7 Ultra became the first company vehicle to receive full regulatory approval for public roads in Europe. A production model registered in Munich initiated official on-road testing.

The manufacturer aims to establish its European presence in 2027, following anticipated domestic profitability the previous year. Current German testing represents part of ongoing validation efforts under European driving conditions.
